Arrive in St. George, Utah, and check in to the hotel. 

Your guide collects the group at your St. George hotel in the evening for a welcome event that includes some fun and food at an St. George film location.

You start the day with a stop at the bridge and gorge from James Bond’s daring Octopussy (1983) airplane chase on our way to Grafton, a ghost town where Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) and others were filmed. 

Next, you venture into Zion National Park to see film locations from Jeremiah Johnson (1972), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), The Car (1977), The Dude Ranger (1934), and Thunderhead: Son of Flicka (1945). At the same time, you’ll enjoy the spectacular scenery of one of America’s most popular national parks with a chance to see California condors and big horn sheep.

After driving through the Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel and the eastern side of Zion National Park, you'll make our way to Kanab, where you’ll see several set pieces from many movies including The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976). That night you’ll stay at the historic Parry Lodge where John Wayne, the Rat Pack, and many other stars stayed while filming in the area, and enjoy a movie experience night with a local who helps Hollywood producers scout locations in the Kanab area.

From Kanab, you’ll head to Lake Powell where you’ll take a boat tour to see film locations from Planet of the Apes (1968). You’ll also learn about the nation’s second largest reservoir that Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze skydived over in Point Break (1991) and that made the backdrop for the Mandalorian (2023) and Superman.

After lunch in Page, we continue through the Navajo Nation on to Monument Valley. This iconic landscape has been used in numerous films since the golden age of cinema with legendary director John Ford making eight movies such as Stagecoach (1939) and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949). Other films in Monument Valley include Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014), Back to the Future part III (1990), and Wild Wild West (1999). You’ll visit the Goulding’s Trading Post Museum and take a tour of the Navajo Tribal Park including a stop at John Ford Point, the location where John Wayne sat on his horse in The Searchers.

From Monument Valley, you’ll head north stopping at Forrest Gump Hill before spending the night in nearby Bluff. 

After breakfast, you continue north to the Moab area. You first visit Canyonlands National Park to the location of the Sermon on the Mount from The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965) and enjoy grand views from Island of the Sky overlooking miles and miles of rugged canyon landscape. 

You then visit Dead Horse Point State Park and enjoy the grand views across the Colorado River. Here, you’ll see where Tom Cruise rock climbed at the beginning of Mission Impossible II (2000) and where Thelma and Louise climactically ended their police chase. This stunning landscape also played a role in Joe Dirt (2001), Westworld (2016-2022), and others.

From there, you visit the quirky, almost-a-ghost-town, Cisco, an important film location for Thelma and Louise (1991) and the climactic end of Vanishing Point (1971). We then take the spectacular scenic drive back to Moab along the Colorado River where we’ll see film locations for Horizon: An American Saga (2024) and City Slickers II: The Search for Curly’s Gold (1994). We’ll stop at Red Cliffs Lodge, film location for John Wayne’s Red River (1948) and others, and visit the Moab Museum of Film and Western Heritage before ending the night with another film experience and trivia night.

You start the day in Arches National Park for sunrise where Thelma and Louise drove through the night and into the dawn. From there, we’ll follow a similar path to River Phoenix’s scout troop in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) and where young Indiana claimed the Cross of Coronado, which happens to the same place Ang Lee used for Hulk (2003). In the park, you’ll visit Double Arch, see the iconic Delicate Arch, and more magnificent scenery and learn about this spectacular landscape that drew Steven Spielberg and Ridley Scott to make movies in Utah.

Next, you drive near the surface of the planet Vulcan from Star Trek (2009) to the alien planet from Galaxy Quest (1999) in Goblin Valley State Park. You walk among the hoodoo rock formations where Tim Allen, Tony Shalhoub, Alan Rickman, Sigourney Weaver, and Sam Rockwell were chased by the cute childlike creatures and a giant rock monster to exact locations from that movie and from City Slickers II: The Search for Curly’s Gold (1994).

You then drive through more otherworldly scenery that has served as a backdrop for many movies including the dirt-biking hills from the Point Break (2015) remake and Disney's John Carter (2012). Then, experience another majestic landscape as you drive through Capitol Reef National Park. This drive includes ancient Fremont petroglyph panels and historic pioneer orchards. 

That night, enjoy another film experience and movie trivia party with dinner from a local restaurant featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

On your way to Salt Lake City, you’ll stop and tour Burn’s Saddlery in Salina, where hats and silver items were made for Yellowstone (2018-) as well as other celebrities like Post Malone. 

Then, you’ll drive back to Salt Lake City for an evening drop off at the airport or a local hotel.
